A singer's pilgrimage

Washington singer Jim Friedrich is underway on the Camino de Santiago, a 565-mile pilgrimage walk in Spain. Those of us interested in following his travels in words and pictures can do so at his blog The religious imagineer: where the fire and the rose are one.

Two singings near Seattle this weekend

We're not singing in Seattle proper this weekend, but you can go a little further afield and join one or both of these regular monthly singings. Both are from the Denson book:
  • Sat 3/1, 2:00-4:00pm at Fort Nisqually in Point Defiance Park in Tacoma. Tell the clerk at the entrance desk you're a singer and get in free.

  • Sun 3/2, 3:00-5:00pm on Whidbey Island, at the Langley United Methodist Church, 3rd St and Anthes Ave, Langley.

Christian Harmony singings in March, April, and May

Clarissa writes:

Hi everyone, some singings coming up:

Sunday March 30, evening potluck and singing at the Schinskes. Bob will post details. Chris Cotter from Portland plans to be there, and I hope you can make it too.

Saturday April 19, 7-9PM, Christian Harmony singing at my house.

Saturday May 3 and Sunday May 4, the Portland Double All-Day. Denson on Saturday and Christian Harmony on Sunday.

If six people want to buy a Christian Harmony before these events, I can put in a group order. I think they come to $27.50 each, if I remember correctly. If you want one, comment here.

Awake My Blog

Singing in Seattle and around the Northwest has been wonderful this year! On the other hand, posting about it on this website has been sporadic to the point of dormancy. It's time to change that. Watch this space (and our Twitter feed) for more...and join the song!

Two singings this weekend, ideal for convention prep

Karen Willard writes:
Today is our 3rd Friday singing at Kathy Vlach's home. And Sunday is our 4th Sunday singing at the Episcopal church in Mercer Island.  Go to and click on "WA Monthly Singings" for details of time and directions.

Come get all fired up for our February 19 & 20 singing convention! Practice leading the songs you've got in mind for then, or work on a song that's been giving you fits and you just know some fast leader is going to call it in February.
